Happy Easter! I am a little late with this post because we went out of town for part of the weekend and the rest of it was quite busy. It’s Thursday and I only seem to be catching up on life now. Better late than never I suppose!
We had a wonderful long weekend. Friday being Good Friday, we got out of dodge and road-tripped up to Kamloops for the weekend. It was about a three and a half hour drive and Hallie was such a champ. She slept about half of the time and the rest of the time chugged bottles and cooed from the back seat with the occasional giggle. All of these new sounds that she is starting to make are seriously melting my heart.
Kamloops was beautiful! Bit warmer than the Coast where we leave and even though it is not the usual beach and mountain views that we are used to, the rolling hills and blue sky were still breathtaking. More on our love for this sweet town later (possible news to come!). We explored (with homemade sangria!) and had dinner downtown on ‘main street’ and had a giant family sleepover at the hotel. It was our first trip with a baby so we really had no idea what to expect. I would say that the nighttime was only half successful. Hallie woke up A LOT and in the end we spent the early morning hours just snuggling. She slept, I barely did. But it was a new strange place to be sleeping in so can you blame her? On Saturday we had a beautiful walk down on the river and a feast of Senor Froggies before hitting the road home. A quick trip but such a good time.
On Easter Sunday, the sun was shining again. It was a perfect morning for a walk, some pigging out on MORE Mini Eggs, and to dress up my little chicken in honor of the day. Such a fine chicken she was too! I could not stop snapping my camera. She even put up very little resistance when I was dressing her as well. Quite surprising! We took our little chicken out to my mum’s that afternoon for a delicious Easter feast, and again, ate far too many Mini Eggs. This holiday is trouble, it truly is.
Monday is not technically a holiday but Henry had the day off so we were lucky to spend one more day together. We started the day with a healthier start and threw the rest of the chocolate out. Enough was enough! Berries for everyone today. The rest of the day was filled with some shopping, a trip to the Harley Davidson store (insert Henry drooling here haha!), a delicious bbq dinner and plenty of relaxation.
I hope you all enjoyed your Easter and spent it filled with family, faith, making great memories and enjoying all the chocolate you could. I can’t wait for next year when Hallie is old enough to follow the Easter Bunny footsteps. It just keeps getting better with this little chicken!
Having read this I thought it was very informative. I appreciate you taking the time and energy to
put this article together. I once again find myself spending a significant amount of time both reading and commenting.
But so what, it was still worthwhile!
