First Family Photo Session

Ahh photos. I might be the only person I know who has not had professional photos taken of their babies. We had a family friend take our engagement photos and of course we had a photographer at our wedding. But for whatever reason I have a hard time swallowing the prices that you need to pay for even a mini session. Plus I happen to LOVE taking photos (the proof is on my phone when I see that there are 6000 photos I need to upload onto the computer). When you love to do something yourself, and you aren’t too terrible at it, there is another reason of why it can be hard to cough up the dough. So yes, I am that horrible mommy who never had photos of her newborn babies take – professionally. I have about a thousand though of each kid in the hospital, plus I can’t help but take them constantly all day every day. Anyone who follows me on Instagram or Facebook knows this very well. #sorrynotsorry

With all of that being said, I was extremely fortunate enough to win a FREE mini Christmas session from a local photographer. I guess we were finally meant to get a family photo done. What better time than Christmas? Full disclosure; I was doing makeshift family photos up until this point. It’s a piece of cake really. Each parent has a picture taken with one kid and you simply crop and collage them together as one in an app. Ghetto but awesome in my opinion. But since we had this great opportunity, we masked our holiday hangovers, slapped a smile on our frozen faces and enjoyed a very cold hour out in the park. A great memory with some fun pictures to show for it. We might have learned a thing or two for the next time we do it too. (Huge shout out to the photographers who can manage two year olds. Mine proved to be the most difficult and BUSIEST model in town- ‘wait I see a squirrel, better run this way!’)
